Swiss Alpine (map) is nestled in among the Pere Marquette State Forest and is located northeast of Reed City, in Cedar Township, Osceola County, Michigan. Swiss Alpine is located in Northwestern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. It is about a fifteen minute drive to Reed City to the south, and approximately thirty minutes south to Big Rapids or north to Cadillac.
Amenities
Swiss Alpine has many amenities to offer its members and guests.
Beautiful building sites are available, with access to two private stocked lakes, campground, clubhouse, beaches, picnic areas, electric, telephone, and roads maintained year-round.
Parcels are generous in size, and are divided with the lay of the land in mind. Additionally, the northern border of Swiss Alpine abuts to the Pere Marquette State Forrest. This provides for many outdoor recreational activities for everyone such as camping, hiking, berry picking, biking, snowmobiling, hunting and many others.
Roads were built wrapping around the lakes and rolling terrain, leaving the nicest trees standing. Underground telephone and electric is run throughout, eliminating unsightly wires overhead.
Beautifully Preserved
In order to preserve the beauty of Swiss Alpine, there are a few restrictions on land use; most are just common sense and intended to maintain the aesthetics and property value. Most sites are suitable for construction of log, frame (stick-built), or manufactured modular homes. Some sites also allow mobile homes in addition to conventional construction.
All new construction and modifications to existing structures are required to be approved by the Architecture Controls Committee, or the Board of Directors.
Swiss Alpine Association
The home owners association for property owners within the Swiss Alpine Subdivision, Swiss Alpine Association maintains the beaches, clubhouse, campground, roads, trash removal, winter snow removal and pays the property taxes on all the common lands.
A yearly assessment fee is used to cover the annual maintenance expenses, for establishing reserve funds for unforeseen expenses and capital expenditures. Currently the yearly assessment fees are $100 for the primary lot and $50 for each secondary lot that a member may own. A $10 administrative fee per member is charged annually to cover costs of various mailings throughout the year.
